From the Editor l June - A cautious running of the bulls

It’s been a slog for many manufacturers these past couple of years, but most of the evidence suggests we’re rising out of the muck. Manufacturers are optimistic and expecting growth and the optimism appears well founded.

The most recent Nicolet Bank Business Pulse Survey, released last month, found the highest  confidence level in more than three years among Northeast Wisconsin business leaders. Drill down a little deeper into the Business Pulse numbers and you’ll find that manufacturing leaders are even more optimistic than their service sector colleagues.

Just in time - New North manufacturers say they're optimistic about the future ...

Talk about good timing. New North manufacturers say they’re optimistic about their economic future. According to the latest Nicolet National Bank Business Pulse Survey (see “Bright outlook” on page 15), 72 percent say they are optimistic about the future of manufacturing and 68 percent say they expect their production to increase in 2010. The timing of their optimism seems impeccable, based on emerging economic news.
